PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – Jamie Davis
● A reminder that we must be out of the facility by 12:00 Noon.
● “Pay it Forward” message – Please find your way to participate fully in our Guild and consider a volunteer position.
● General Meeting minutes from February 9, 2026 were presented for approval. Motion made by Kathleen Semerau. Motion seconded by Gerry Carr. Motion carried unanimously.
● Approval of new logo for Guild. Motion made by Carol Grimes. Motion seconded by Patricia Charity. Motion carried unanimously.
● Cathy Day announced there are two openings for the upcoming QUILT CAMP set for March 23 through 26 at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Prescott. Please see Cathy if you’d like to sign up or place your name on the waitlist. The cost remains $125.00.
President Jamie thanked the members who worked on the Opportunity Quilt, with special thanks to Dede Erceg for the fabric donation. The top is all put together, but we still need a volunteer long-armer who is willing to donate her time.
● “RETREAT LITE” will be held on May 25 & 26 and October 26 & 27. The cost remains $15.00. Sign-ups will start in April.
● President’s Challenge Hopi Indian Lap Quilts; Requirements are on the website. If you eed a label, see Jamie or Sheryl Goddard at the Handmade Hugs table during the break.
● Bus Tour: Sharon Harris announced that Arizona Quilters Guild will be hosting an all- day bus tour to Glendale on March 20 for $59, admission is free. Pickup will be at Walmart at Hwy 69. See Sharon for more information.
MEMBERSHIP – Dawnelle Muecke
● Today we had 10 visitors. Each visitor stood and introduced themselves.
TREASURER REPORT – Judith Dobke
Judith announced that she keeps a copy of the budget report with her at the Guild meeting. If anyone has questions about the budget, please stop by the Treasurer table during the break.
Judith gave thanks to the Ways & Means Committee for their successful Silent Auction and water mister sales. She also thanked the Company Store Committee who have already doubled their estimated sales budget.
Judith reported that she and President Jamie recently rolled over the CD at the bank.
COMMUNITY SERVICE – Sheryl Goodard
● Sheryl shared that Handmade Hugs donated 10 quilts to our community in need.
● The next gathering of “Handmade Hugs” will be on March 14 at Stoneridge Community Center from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Sheryl said this gathering will be a “Scrap-o-rama Jamboree” using scraps to make rail fence blocks.
● Sheryl received an email from the VA Hospital requesting help making button holes on the binding of the patients’ lap quilts so a piece of fabric with a button and a jingle bell attached. This small effort will help the nurses hear when patients try to get out of wheelchairs or beds by themselves. Please see Sheryl if you are interested in helping our local Veterans.
● Members are encouraged to pick up projects to complete at today’s meeting.
NEWCOMERS – Georgia Lindsey and Mary Ellen Coe
● The next gathering of “Newcomers” will be a road trip down to the Valley to visit four quilt shops on Friday, March 13th. Please RSVP so that carpools can be arranged.
● The April gathering of “Newcomers” will be a sewing session at Coco’s Prescott Quilt Works. Georgia will be teaching how to tackle curves.
● The May gathering of “Newcomers” will be held at Mary Ellen’s home to put together the quilt blocks for our 2027 Quilt Show.
WAYS AND MEANS – Gerry Carr, Carol Grimes and Lydia Figuroa
Gerry and Carol showed members the new license plate and frame with our new logo. The plates will sell for $15, the frames for $10. The team asked for a show of hands to see how many members will purchase one or both and almost everyone raised their hands.
A prototype of the banner with the new logo was shown to members. Carol asked the Executive Committee members to approve the last revision she sent by email so the banner order can be placed.
WORKSHOPS – Deb Johnson and Kathleen Bond
● Deb announced she has 10 TBQ T-shirts leftover from the Quilt Show and has them for sale at the Workshop table for $10.
● Fabric Dying class will be an all-day class on Tuesday, March 10th. The cost will be $35.00 and held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Prescott. A supply list was emailed to members who signed up.
● On Tuesday, April 14th, Mimi Damrauer will be teaching a class called “Surface Design on Fabric with Gel Painting. The all-day class will cost $45.00 and will again be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Prescott. The instructor will be bringing all the materials.
● On May 11, Karen Nyberg, “The Astronaut Quilter” will be our guest speaker via Zoom. There will be no class scheduled in May.
● June – TBD
● July – Party and 10-Year Celebration of Handmade Hugs. Deb announced the names of the volunteer hostesses and asked them to remain after the Guild meeting for a quick planning session.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
● BIRTHDAY DRAWING – Arlene Morris called out the nine birthday drawing winners and gifts were distributed.
● BLOCK OF THE MONTH – Sheryl Goddard pulled a ticket for the 13 Jacobs Ladder blocks made by members this month. Pat Noel was the lucky winner! Sheryl announced that the April block will be “Greek Cross.” The instructions will be posted on the website.
