Celebrating Quilters in the Prescott, Arizona Area
Monthly News – November 9, 2026
Co-presidents’ message
Co-Presidents Karen Eads & Kathy Spry
Where did 2026 go? Thanksgiving and the holidays are right around the corner. Let’s all remember to give thanks for our families, friends and our great community of Thumb Butte quilters. We are so blessed to be surrounded by such talented and giving quilters. Are you planning on making gifts for any friends or loved ones? Don’t forget the company store may have just what you need for your projects. Thank you to Faith Chaney for her many years of service to the guild. What a wonderful farewell we gave her. We wish her the best in her new adventure. A big shoutout to Judith Dobke for getting our Square terminals up and running. We know this will streamline the purchase process at our meetings (membership, workshops, marketplace and Opportunity Quilt Raffle tickets), as well as, at our upcoming quilt show. We had a great presentation from the Colourwerx team, Carl and Linda Sullivan, at the October meeting. As soon as you walked into the meeting, their vibrant and colorful quilts, fabrics, and supplies were eye catching. If you missed the meeting, be sure to check their Colourwerx.com website for some inspiration! In November, we have Elizabeth Phinder of Ladybug Quilt Studio, coming to share her quilting journey and give a workshop on finished edge hand applique. The opportunity quilt sales are humming along thanks to Carol Grimes and the ticket sales volunteers. We are already half way to Carol’s personal goal of $5000. Another reminder to bring in your 20” x 20” pillows for the President’s challenge. We received 2 at the last meeting and hope that everyone will participate.

“Brilliant Beauties of Joy” by Barbara Stein
The rainbow colors of the foundation paper-pieced quilt intrigued Barbara. She had no idea how may shade
variations there were until she opened the kit. Every color had to be labeled so she could keep them in the proper
sequence. She had to remain focused when working on the sewing!!! But the effort paid off and it’s one of her
favorites.
“Midnight Roses” by Jamie Davis
This quilt was made in a Block of the Month class at Quiltique in Henderson, NV.
