9:32 President Jamie Davis begins today’s general membership meeting.
· Request the membership for a motion to accept the meeting minutes from the May General Membership meeting minutes. Motion made by Sari Butler; motion seconded by Sharon Harris. The motion’s verbal vote of the membership passed unanimously.
WAYS & MEANS REPORT: Carol Grimes and Dede Erceg announce the official beginning of sales for our Guild’s 2027 Opportunity Quilt tickets. Carol announced that envelopes have been made for each member to “check-out” two packets of six tickets each to purchase for themselves or to be sold to others. Carol reminded our members to help publicize our sales efforts through HOAs, churches, groups, etc. Members are encouraged to share the flyer out on social media. Dede shared that there are fabric samples and pictures for members to share as well. The ticket sales at the Mountain Top Quilt Show raised $387.00. Ways and Means will be looking for Opportunity Quilt “sitters” for both the upcoming craft show and Yavapai County Fair. Carol will also be compiling an “alternates” sign up list to cover last minute “sitter” cancellations.
TREASURER REPORT: All members received a copy of the 2026-2027 proposed annual budget to review prior to today’s meeting via email on Friday, June 5th. Treasurer Judith and President Jamie noted that our proposed budget will run in about a $6,000.00 deficit this next year due to some large expenditures for new equipment. A motion to accept the proposed 2026-2027 budget was made by Sharon Harris. The motion was seconded by Michelle Anderson. The motion’s verbal vote of the membership passed unanimously.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT: Alicia welcomed ten guests to our meeting today and each guest introduced themselves. A reminder to our current membership that today is the deadline to renew your membership for the next year. If you aren’t sure if you’ve paid, see Dawnell to check before leaving.
NEWCOMERS REPORT: A thank you was given to Georgia and Mary Ellen for their leadership the past two years. The new leaders will be Sheryl Goddard and Angela Smith. The Newcomers group will meet next in September.
COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORT: Sheryl reported on our active “Handmade Hugs” volunteers who meet both on the first Saturday of each month at Stoneridge Community Center and those that sew at home. This month 39 baby items, 32 lap quilts and one raffle quilt have been donated to our community. There will be no Handmade Hugs gathering in July, and the next meeting is set for Saturday, August 1st. The total number of projects donated thus far this year is 671 quilts and baby items.
WAYS & MEANS REPORT: Gerry announced that they continue to sell license plate frames and plates as well as offer 2025 quilt show pins for donations.
PRESENTATION TO THE HOPI ELDERS: President Jamie introduced Valarie Harris who shared in depth about the school of arts-based classes supported by sale of tickets from their Opportunity Quilt. Gary also shared that he collects both fabric and sewing machines to donate to the Hopi and Navajo Nations. The members of our guild circled the room with the PRESIDENT’S CHALLENGE donations for the Hopi Elders and the count numbered 90 quilts!
PROGRAMS & WORKSHOPS REPORT: Kathleen reminded members of the class tomorrow. Deb introduced our speaker for today: Jaimie Davis on the topic of Baltimore Album Quilts. Jaimie provided a slide show on the history of these quilts and their unique characteristics.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH DRAWING: Angela raffled off 15 blocks collected this month. She named her successors Sheryl McLain and Maria Williams.
PRESIDENTAL AWARDS: President Jamie named the following awards:
· Deb Johnson was awarded a “Together We Can Make a Difference” pin for her work as Vice president, finding speakers, writing contracts, and planning parties this past year.
· Chris Sommerfelt named the recipient of the “Angel Pin” for her volunteer work designing our new guild logo.
· Gerry Carr, Lydia Figueroa, and Carol Grimes were gifted “Lifted Angel Wings” pins for their hard work on Ways and Means this year.
· Kathleen Bond was presented with a “Lifted Angel Wings” pin for her years of service in Workshops.
· Pam Jones was presented with a “Lifted Angel Wings” pin for chairing and leading the Company Store for so many years.
· Pat Noel was presented with a “Red Wagon” pin for all her work transporting the Company Store and Quilt Show items for the past years.
· Carol Wright was presented with the “Tow and Robe” pin for keeping us on track at the meetings and her timely information to the Executive Committee and the entire membership.
· Noted thanks to MaryAnn Conner for her years of continued service with the Adult Center displays.
· Further thanks to Pam Jones, Lorraine Owens, Carol Brownlow and Cathy Day for their tireless work with the Company Store.

BIRTHDAY DRAWING: Arleen pulled tickets for ten birthday gifts shared today. No birthday drawing in July during our Guild’s birthday party. Please bring your July and August birthday gifts to the August meeting.
COMPANY STORE ANNOUNCEMENT: Pam announced that this month was a record income month at the Company Store taking in $1,680.00! No company store at the July meeting.
SHOW AND TELL: Twelve members shared their quilts and projects. Susan Lewis will be taking over next year.
