president’s message

Hello Quilty Friends,
What an exciting month it’s been! A huge thank you to Martie Winkelman for her absolutely delightful and inspiring trunk show of amazing wearables. Every piece was a work of art, and we so appreciate you sharing your creativity and talent with us!

Also, a big shoutout to Carrie Casto—NOT Castro!—for not only sharing her beautiful work but for stepping up and recruiting helping hands for our Handmade Quilts Day on Tuesday, April 15th. Your dedication keeps our guild moving forward, one stitch at a time.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to welcome Rob Appell in May! Rob will be teaching on Monday afternoon following our regular meeting at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and again on Tuesday. If
you haven’t signed up yet, don’t wait—his classes are sure to be a treat!

And yes… the countdown is on! Our Quilt Show is just around the corner, and it’s time to get those quilts registered. All the details can be found on our website, and of course, Carrie Casto (remember, not Castro!) is available to help with any questions. This includes the Nursery Rhyme Presidential Challenge Quilts. Let’s plan on a Show N Tell in June.

As the days get warmer, don’t forget to stay hydrated—we’ve got lots of PIGs (Projects In Grocery sacks!) and WIPs to tackle!

Stay happy and keep on sewing,
Coco Alaniz, President

membership

Hi Everyone!  We had 89 people attend our April meeting and 8 guests came to enjoy Marti’s awesome trunk show.  Let’s also welcome our 2 new members who joined after the presentation, Lorin Franco and Susan Henry!

At the May meeting we will be collecting the $35 yearly dues for the 2025/2026 year.  Check or cash is welcome, but honestly checks are the easiest form of payment.  You can just drop the check off at the membership desk and you don’t have to wait for a receipt!  We had 33 members renew at the April meeting and hope that we get the rest in May.   If you won’t be at the next meeting or want to pay now, you can make out your  $35 check to TBQ and put 2025/2026 dues in the memo field and mail to:

Thumb Butte Quilters Guild
