2025-2026 Challenge – Quilts for Hopi Elders Women or Men – quilts will be presented in June 2026
Instructions for The President’s Challenge will be as follows: (click here for printed copy 2025-2026 Presidents Challenge for Hopi Elders )
· 3 Layers – Top, Batting and Back.
· Choose appropriate fabric. Cotton is preferred.
· No Upholstery, double knit, felt, vinyl, wool, burlap or tapestry fabrics
· Please no Owls, Snakes, Skulls, Ghost or anything relating to Death (for cultural reasons)
· No Holiday or Religious Fabrics
· Choose any color Fabric
· None of the following should be on the quilt Buttons, Glitter, Pins, Sequins
· Please check for pet hair, chemicals, perfumes or heavy detergents
· Quilts maybe Domestic Machine Quilted, Long Arm Quilted or Tied
· If you are a Domestic Machine Quilter please quilt every 6 inches, Vertically and Horizontally
· Panels may be used also, but add Borders to enlarge the size and square up the panel
· QUILT SIZE preferably should be 50 inches x 65 inches or no larger than Twin Size
· The 3 Yard Quilt Patterns by Donna Robertson or Villa Rosa Patterns are Quick and Easy

June 2025 – Nursery Rhymes
President CoCo Alaniz’s challenge was nursery rhymes. Quilts will be donated to children’s organizations.
May 2024 – Red, White & Blue
President Angela Smith’s challenge was red, white and blue. These quilts will be donated to Honor Flight veterans and some to Quilts of Honor. Thank you for your service veterans!
May 2023 – Name that Song
Guild members created quilts based on a song of their choice.
